Gymnastics/Dance Update

Oh...and I also need to give an update on Mckenna's progress with dance and gymnastics....

She is doing MUCH better in gymnastics! She is really learning to take turns and I'm not sweating bullets anymore watching her run around the gym like crazy from the window above. She really listens and was so proud of herself b/c she listened really good the other night and her teacher gave her a ribbon that said AWESOME. They set up little obstacles courses for her to do and she does them. She is going to be quite the little gymnast I'm sure!

She started dance...ballet and tap and she abolutely loves it. Started off rough...didn't listen to the teacher and she came out of class the second week bawling her eyes out. She was the only little girl in the class who didn't receive a sticker. The teacher told her that she didn't get a sticker b/c she wasn't listening or dancing and she got her name on the board 2 times. She felt so bad and sad that she didn't get one. I gave her a big pep talk for the next week and told her she needed to listen and dance...100% improvement...she danced the class away and finally got her a sticker. She is really doing great now and loves going! She's always dancing around the house and I was glad she got to show off her skills at Abuelita's party : )

Sick lil baby : (

On thurs Mckenna woke up really fussy and warm like a brownie that just came out of the oven! : ( I had a feeling she was going to be sick! So I went ahead and took her to the doctor b/c I didn't want her to be sick all week...well they looked at me like I was crazy and said nothing was wrong with her and here we are 2 days later with a fever that got up to 103 and a sick little girl! She isn't too terribly bad, fever and sleeping is the only symtoms, but she is just not feeling too well.

So we've just been lounging in our pj's for the last couple of days watching movies. Today she decided that she wanted to bake cupcakes so we went to the store and bought stuff and made cupcakes this afternoon. She loved pooring the sprinkles on and she was really excited b/c I bought her a new Seaseme Street apron that she wore. She kept telling me that I was the cooker and she was the baker! She was also saying that she wanted to send a cupcake to Nana, Big John, Tanner, Blair, Clair and Brooks : ) She's been talking about Nana and Big John a lot lately, I think she really misses them! She told me this morning that they were coming to pick her up and asked if I was going to miss her LOL.

Today Honey came over with her new dog (Binkie) and Mckenna decided that she was going to name him Toto. Tonight Lolli and Papa are spending the night while her they are having their house painted. Can't wait till we finally have a house with a guest bedroom and a playroom for Mckenna...I don't think anyone is going to appreciate it more than us! I know it will come in time though. Lolli is in bed with Mckenna. I washed her sheets and disinfected her room, so hopefully that will help not to spread the sickness! They've been laying in bed for about an hour now and she made lolli come out to get me and Ross b/c she said she hadn't said good night : ) So cute! She is such a staller, we really did already tuck her in! Hopefully she is better by Sunday so she can go to "school"...she calls Sunday school her "school" and now insists on taking a back pack too! So funny! I can't imagine her starting big school someday : ( She is growing up waaayyyy too fast!

I had to blog about this b/c it was soooo darn funny. Sometimes I just don't know where this kid comes up with things! Today I finally decided I needed to get back to the gym. We took a trip to Laredo this past weekend for Mckenna's great, great abuelita's 94th b-day and when I took one look at all the pics I was mortified! I was looking a little pudgy. Mckenna looked great of course : ) She had soooo much fun! We went shopping a little bit and she picked out a NEMO costume in the Disney store that she put on and would not take off!!! She wore it all over the shopping mall in every store we went in! Then she woke up the next morning and put it on again...it's her new favorite outfit : )

She danced all night long and fit right in, tearing up the dance floor to all the Spanish music. It was so sweet that this is the 3rd birthday that she was able to spend with her abuelita. How many ppl get to grow up and look back and see that they were able to spend time with their great, great grandma's...not one, but two! Although Nannie has passed, we were very fortunate that Mckenna got to see her quite a bit. Abuelita was in great shape and although frail, she was in great spirits and was so happy to see us.

I trailed off a little bit, but anyways, I took Mckenna to the gym with me and when I went to pick her up the ladies informed me that she had been talking about how she didn't have a mommy, she had two daddys. OMG! I was so embarressed. I swore to them that I had no clue where she was getting this from, and I still can't figure it out. I asked her in front of them who she was talking about....she said "I have a daddy and I have a Ross....two daddys!!"

She is really really smart too. She told me in the car the other day that her intestines hurt. Not her stomach hurt, her instestines hurt! She said that her food goes through her esophogaus and down her instestines and then it comes out her bootie. She is definetly going to have Ross's smarts! She also was watching me do my hair today and looked at my hand and told me "look mom! That is your vein, that is where your blood is. Octopus's have blue blood b/c they don't have veins, but we have red blood"....Ross really spends a lot of time with her working on things. She informed me today that she was going to be a doctor when she grows up, just like her dad.

Well, I gotta go get her bed now. We are a bit off schedule b/c she stayed up so late last night. Poor baby was about to go to bed and she ran into the wall. She got a huge bump/bruise on her head as soon as it happened, and I had to keep her up to make sure she didn't have a concussion. She played it up pretty good too...laying on the couch with her sad face on....nothing that choclate milk and sponge bob couldn't fix though. Night!

OH AND CONGRATS DADDY!!!!!! HE MADE A 30 ON MCAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE SO SO SO PROUD!

Time Flies....

So it's been too long...AGAIN!! Mckenna is just growing up so fast. Life as we know it is better than ever. It's funny how when she was a baby in her first months of life I was just wishing she was older and couldn't wait till she could talk...but now I long for the days when she was just a tiny baby and would just cuddle in my arms all day! Don't get me wrong, she is as adorable as ever, but I do miss when she was so little! I wish we were at a point in our lives where I could have more...but unfortunatly that is next to impossible with medical school coming up and with my career thriving. I often ask Mckenna if she wants a brother or a sister...her response..."I already have one, you are my sister, and daddy is my brother" : )

She's also been telling me that she has baby duckies in her tummy and she is going to poop them out and be their mommy. She is hilarious...she says the funniest things. Ross and I aren't sure if she really understands the concept of heaven and hell. She sometimes talks about how buddy the dog, shamu the cat, bluey the fish, and Grannie are all in heaven. The other day she found a dead spider on the floor and Ross threw it away. He asked her if the spider was in heaven. She looked at him like he was crazy and said "No dad! It's in the trash can!"

She has quite the personality...she recently started gymnastics class and has a pretty hard time with it. She loves the class, but she hates sharing or taking turns. I think it is good for her though. I'm glad that she hasn't had to go to day care, but sometimes I think it might have been good for her. She isn't around other kids as much as I would like her to be, but I'm trying to keep her busy with activities. She starts dance class back up tomorrow and I'm so excited for her. She gets to be in tap and ballet...which I will love so we can see 2 dances. This years ballet recital was adorable, but 9 months of dance class for a 2 minute recital dance was a killer! She will get two costumes and routines this year. She loves the tap shoes!! The first day we got them she wore them everywhere!! I'm interested to see how she takes to the class.

My job is so busy right now. I'm so thankful for how far I've come. I really enjoy getting to put her to bed every night and not working late hours or having to have her away every weekend. But I absolutely hate getting up early...I don't think I will ever be a morning person. I miss not seeing her every morning and long for the days when I don't have to work anymore. I know by then she will be in school, but at least I will be able to be the room mom, and pick the kids up from school, and bring her lunch, and maybe have another baby : )
